In each mission description in GENERAL.MIX is a variable called 'Action' which tells the computer which cutscene to introduce the mission with after the briefing. I usually change this but you can also change the Win/Lose custscenes as well. Here goes: First you need to get your GENERAL.MIX onto your hard drive. For those of use who bought the game and have it on CD you can copy it over into your C&C directory. Now you have to use a hex editor on GAME.DAT so back it up first, just in case. Do a search for GENERAL.MIX - there should be 2 occurrences. change each occurrence to X:GENER.MIX where X is the letter of your hard drive which contains your C&C directory. This basically overrides C&C's CDROM letter. Exit out of your hex editor and rename GENERAL.MIX to GENER.MIX. *Phew* Now go back into your hex editor and do a search for BRIEF=GDI1. This is the animation for the briefing for GDI mission 1. Unfortunately it also seems to be used in the Multi-player missions so you have to find an occurrence that doesn't have a mention of Multi1 near it... Still with me? You should have the following: [BASIC] CarryOverCap=-1 CarryOverMoney=0 Intro=x BuildLevel=1 Theme=No theme Percent=0 Player=GoodGuy Win=CONSYARD Lose=GAMEOVER Brief=GDI1 Action=LANDING There's more following it but this deals with Unit/Infantry/Structure placement. Yes - that can be altered too...;-) To get the new cutscenes, alter the Action/Win or Lose variable to one of following: GDIEND1 GDIEND2 GDIFINA GDIFINB AIRSTRK AKIRA BANNER BCANYON BKGROUND BOMBAWAY BOMBFLEE BURDET1 BURDET2 CC2TEASE CONSYARD DESFLEES DESKILL DESOLAT DESSWEEP FLAG FLYY FORESTKL GAMEOVER GDILOSE GUNBOAT HELLVALY INSITES KANEPRE LANDING LOGO NAPALM NITEJUMP NODEND1 NODEND2 NODEND3 NODEND4 NODFINAL NOD FLEES NODLOSE NODSWEEP NUKE OBEL PARATROP PINTLE PLANECRA PODIUM REFINT RETRO SABOTAGE SAMDIE SAMSITE SEIGE SETHPRE SPYCRASH STEALTH SUNDIAL TANKGO TANKKILL TBRINFO1 TBRINFO2 TBRINFO3 TIBERFX TRTKIL_D TURTKILL All of these are mentioned in Game.dat but not all of them work. I tried NUKE and AKIRA but had no luck... For a trippy time, try Player=BadGuy as well ----------------------------------------------------------------------- :Remember- : : :No matter where you go, there you are. :Marcus@Commsat.demon.co.uk: -----------------------------------------------------------------------
